An Interview with Eaglin

How did you get your start in music?

It started with Bailee playing her guitar and writing songs in her room. Kenzie would sing with her every now and then, but we liked our sound together and we kept singing and making music, which is how we decided to collaborate as Eaglin. We’re just two sisters wanting to share our music with the world.

Where are you from?

We were born and raised in Denton, Texas! We’re big fans of our artsy town.

Tell us the story behind your new song?

“Twenty Three” is a song about traveling to the future, and realizing you have it good in the present tense. But, you can’t wait for others to see how good it gets.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday?

B: I love to ride my bike around Central Park and get together with friends.

K: My favorite thing to do on a Saturday is explore new places or places I’ve never been to in whatever city I’m living in!

If you weren’t a musician, what do you think you’d be doing right now?

If we weren’t musicians, we’d probably just be working our jobs that we went to college for our degrees for. Kenzie’s still in school, but that’s what she’d eventually end up doing. We’d also probably be traveling.

What is one album that changed your life?

K: An album that changed my life is “Graduation” by Kanye West. I found that album my sophomore year of high school, and I fell in love with every single song on his album.

B: An album by the Beatles is my favorite! There are different songs on each album that have a special place in my heart, so I can’t just choose one.

What’s up next for you?

We’re dropping some new music this fall that’s the perfect next chapter to follow the EP we released this summer.

Favorite song lyric?

“I’ve got everything right here in my living room on my stage singing songs for mom again.” That line has sentimental value because that’s where our music career started off as. We were just singing songs we wrote for our mom.
