Meet New York City pop/rock band 'The Misters'...
Michael (Vox / Guitar), Jim (Guitar / Keys), Todd (Drums), Brent (Bass)
How did you get your start in music?
M: My parents signed me up for theatre camp at a young age and haven’t stopped performing since.
J: I was a band nerd (sax). I ended up recording my own songs and stumbled into music production.
T: Jamming in Uncle Jim’s basement.
B: Grew up playing upright bass in the orchestra and jazz band, then I joined The Misters.
Where are you from?
We met at NYU and have been playing music in the city ever since.
Tell us the story behind your new song?
MGTB is the first track we wrote during our quarantine sessions. The goal for this track was to branch out from our typical sound and communicate how difficult lapses in communication can be for so many relationships. We wrote this at the beginning of quarantine, so that was definitely a reoccurring theme (for many).
What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday?
M: Cook a giant ass meal.
J: Mine tin ore in Varrock.
T: Brush my hair and comb my teeth.
B: Eat a giant ass meal.
What is your dream superpower?
M: Knowing what people are thinking (but only on the subway, the rest is too much)
J: Pausing time
T: Being able to barf at will
B: Never having a hangover
What is one album that changed your life?
M: John Mayer – Room For Squares
J: Jamie XX – In Colour
T: The Backstreet Boys - Milennium
B: AM - TBHC
What’s up next for you?
Nothing but live shows. The whole band will finally be back in NY full time very soon and we cannot wait to play show after show.
